Recently released on Lava Church, a DIY cassette and CD label, is David DeCorte’s Meditation in the Floodwaters, a 2 track, 20 minute tape of blissful ambient recordings. Wandering synths and heavy atmosphere are what create the entirety of this tape, and David does this effortlessly and flawlessly as these tracks flow seamlessly throughout their 10 minute time span.

The presentation on these tracks is minimal but that doesn’t take away from the emotional impact of this release. David crafts an EP of pure, untouched beauty, with tracks that surround you, as if enveloped in waves, swimming in the ocean.

Both tracks on this release retain that aesthetic, creating a masterpiece of atmospheric soundscapes, lacking a melody or hook, but offering so much more.

These are songs you soak in. These are songs you live in.
